(PRWEB) November 22, 2005 -- When the Kirkwood family of Port Orchard, Washington returned to its dream home renovated by " Extreme Makeover: Home Edition " earlier this month, they were supplied with state-of-the-art cleaning and housekeeping products, courtesy of The Housekeeping Channel®. Their story will be presented in a 2006 episode of the ABC series. While the need for extreme renovations was precipitated by hazardous black mold that had taken over their house, The Housekeeping Channel pulled together its partners to donate products that will help keep the new home clean and healthy. " Helping people live in cleaner, healthier homes is The Housekeeping Channel's goal, " explained P. Rathey, founder of the Web site. " This was a terrific opportunity to help this deserving family with four children maintain their new home and prevent a black mold problem from returning, " he explained. With the help of The Housekeeping Channel, the Kirkwoods received cleaning and housekeeping products from the following companies: • Advanced Vapor Technologies • FilterStream • Impex Systems Group • ProTeam • Sylvane • TxF Products " When the family left this house it was un-liveable, but they returned to a home where they can maintain a clean and healthy environment. We are truly proud of The Housekeeping Channel and the commitment they made to change the Kirkwood Family's life, " said Diane Korman, Coordinating Producer, " Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. " The Kirkwood family was surprised by " Extreme Makeover: Home Edition " on November 8 to learn of their selection, which was as a result of their 11-year-old daughter Jael's determination and help from her city's mayor, who supported her pitching the family's story to the show's casting department. The " Extreme Makeover: Home Edition " team involved designers, contractors and hundreds of workers and volunteers.
