Subject: Mold in New Orleans

I am glad that someone is taking this mold serious. I do not live in

New

Orleans but am very ill from mold. I was very healthy before I had

mold

growing in a home I was living in for many years. I now live with

reactive

airways disease, where just shampoo makes me sick. Unfortunately many

that

get ill from mold have a chemical type asthma. This illness

destroys your

life and your finances. I now have a sickbuilding type illness

where I

have to be very careful. Just cooking causes such pain. Many get a

chronic

yeast infection that is very hard to get rid of and most of the

doctors

don't seem to know how to treat this illness.

I can't begin to tell you how horrible this illness is and I am very

afraid

for the people in New Orleans. I didn't have anything that looked

like what

I see in New Orleans and I had the most dangerous kinds of molds. I

couldn't see it everywhere like you can in New Orleans so it has to

be so

dangerous.

I and many that are ill from mold have been writing congress and our

representatives since Katrina. There are so many suffering this

illness,

and we don't want more to suffer. Unfortunately we have all been

writing,

but congress is looking the other way.

The CDC has some good info regarding mold, but they act like people

that

are weak and sick have to be careful. Mold does make you very sick.

At

first my husband was okay, and I was the only one ill and then he

started

having seizures.

Please do whatever you can to protect these people and get the word

out how

dangerous mold is, and to be very careful when gutting these homes.

The

mold spores have to be flying everywhere. One person can be gutting

his

home and then the neighbor will start his home and kick everything

back up

into the air and recontaminate the first home.

I can't belive our government is letting an entire population be

exposed to

this mess.
