Guest guest
This subject again, I apologize that I have fallen out of the loop on it. Somebody give me a primer. 3 months old injury, seen MDs and PTs already, calls and wants chiro. Oregon Pt with carrier in WA, claim under WA L & I. Prior established patient of mine, not seen over 2 years. Can I just start seeing this person, or do I need a referral? Is there a protocol I have to go through to get a referral? Are there limits, restrictions, guidelines? A PDF out there somewhere I can access? Anything that could fit into a paragraph or two would be appreciated. It's been a while since I have dealt with L & I, and as I recall, I did not miss it. Guest guest
ohhh Boy. WA has own fee schedule and codes. You can be paid for adjustment of spine only and first 6 visits of PT only. Not sure if you need a referral or not, but i'd guess so. L & I has a website where you can access fee sched/codes and other info, but man, i had difficulty with getting a live body. heres what i have: use regular exam codes chiro codes below. kindof like 98940, 98941 etc. (i think) Level 1 2050A Level 2 2051A Level 3 2052A PT code 1044M Good luck. ph Medlin D.C.Spine Tree Chiropractic1607 NE Alberta St. PDX, OR 97211www.spinetreepdx.com Washington L & I This subject again, I apologize that I have fallen out of the loop onit. Guest guest
, I would listen to concerns of your front office. They are well founded in reality-it it a nightmare for an Oregon doc to handle a Wash St. W//C case in my opinion and experience. Send them to a DC in Wash. and save yourself a lot of grief. My front office person is concerned we won’t get paid as she is unfamiliar with the protocol. My concern is a probable Lumbar IVD Syndrome that is not going to be corrected in 6 visits and would benefit from further diagnostic workup. Any advice? Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the timely advice. . . First you must discern whether it is straight up private insurance or the lovely Labor & Industries government run plan. L & I slightly more of a pain as you must attain a provider number etc.. You will be using a whole new code system. You will be restricted to spinal manipulation only. You are able to perform PT for 6 visits (apparently we are only competent to do PT for more than 6 visits). Massage can be performed by your LMT in office, but they must also have a provider number and I believe again they only pay for 6 or so and at 80 per hour. The up side is that I believe there is no limit on your attending. Good luck. ph Medlin D.C. From: J.
