Barb,

For a while during the " energy crisis, " people were recommending venting dryers

indoors. The lint and moisture can create all sorts of problems. The lint can

spread detergent irritants and allergens, and serve as " food " for mold (and even

clog AC or heat pump coils; in one home, the compressor was destroyed more than

once because of the clogged coil). The moisture can cause attic mold and excess

moisture. If you are using a gas dryer, the exhaust can contain carbon monoxide

!! If you use a portable humidifier, the only safe type is the one that boils

the water (warm mist). They never get moldy.
