Cholestyramine: What should I expect?

Hi. My doctor put me on Cholestyramine after I asked

for it, but he was honest and said he doesn't know

much about it. He said to take two scoops to begin

with and ramp up to four, and I might have stomach

problems?

I already have stomach problems from pain meds, etc.,

and a little irritable bowel syndrome, so I'm a little

nervous about that.

Anyone care to share what their experience was on it?

How long to take it for, etc? Anything else to know

about or beware of because I just have the

prescription, but no knowledge.
