Thank you all for your suggestions. I didn't speak with the doctor personally as the patient is a responsible, intelligent woman. It could have been an office worker, and you may be right.....if I get the doctor on the phone.....his story may be different. Or............sometimes they back peddle with direct confrontation.

When I sent this patient on the mission to get a referral and not take over attending status, that was the reply she came back with. The clinic is Northwest Occupational Health. I'm probably not going to verify it, but Vern's suggestion is very tempting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
