Guest guest
gail, all of nathan's specialist are in iowa city at the university hospital, they are the only ones who specialize in children like nathan, and when he was very little the docs kept refering us to iowa city, so he sees all his docs there, but does have a local peds just for colds and local emergencies but he does as iowa city docs say, nathan has been going there to UIHC since a baby, and they board us there, and send a van to pick us up and take us home after our few days of appointments, cuase its four hours away, but they do an excellent job there mostly occasionally i get ticked at the hospital staff, but thats normal, we go in cycles in seems every couple of weeks for a few days to couple weeks at most then montly then a few months, everytime we get to 3 -6months he gets very ill and has to be hospitalized, and the cycke starts all over again. we go back in october again, ears are not doing good again, shawna. >From: smilinggail@... >Reply-egroups >egroups >Subject: Re: HOLY COW >Date: Fri, 15 Sep 2000 08:20:51 EDT > > >In a message dated 9/15/00 3:31:39 AM Eastern Daylight Time, >mashawnag@... writes: > ><< you guys will never believe me fut nathan did a first last night, it was > late, around 1am, still at hospital, and i was dozing, i notice nathan > sleeping so i turned off the tv, then a few minutes later i seen him get >up > go to the bathroom, IN the bathroom, i had forgotten to put a pull-up on >him > a very long day, then he walked over to bed climbed in and covered up >back > to sleep, didnt wet the bed the entire night, i was so ecstatic, hard to > hold in, but i didnt want to scare him or wake him fully, but he has >never > ever gotten up to use the bathroom on his own during the night, now if he > would do it at home, lol, ofcourse the bathroom is in our room at the > hospital, darn it. shawna. > ____________________ >> >a, >Gosh that's great! Guest guest
a, I really feel for you. We went through the hospital stays constantly when was younger and every stay ended up being months. Hopefully his ear problems can be fixed soon. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Guest guest
A simple " Dr. Malone, your request will be put through " would have been enough. I think one of the problems some of us find is there is a lack of professionalism on this list from time to time. Have a glass of wine and relax.
