We will discuss the same subject matter at each meeting. I have scheduled two meetings because of the large amount of public interest. The subject matter will be the effects of PPO and other network contracts on payments to providers, especially what can be done through rulemaking to give providers more control over how much they are paid. By August 15, I will send an agenda to all who have confirmed attendance. After we have considered the committees' advice, we will prepare and file proposed rules with the Secretary of State by September 15, preliminary to a public hearing some time during the week of October 20. Again, due to the high degree of interest, we will not have enough seating at the table for all attendees, though we should have sufficient audience seating for everyone. Please reply to this e-mail and tell me which day or days you plan to attend, or if your schedule is open for either day. This will allow us to convene a balanced committee both days, I hope.
