Guest guest Posted January 3, 2008 Report Share Posted January 3, 2008 I confess I am an essential oil snob. I buy patchouli oil from Rainbow Meadow and I have never found one to compare. It's the most expensive oil I buy, except maybe for clary sage, and my favorite. I can't bear to put " fragrance oil " into a batch of my lovely soap - it just doesn't seem right. I bought some soap from a homesteader who makes terrific soap, and she claimed there was essential oil in it. I swear I could not tell one soap from another, they all smelled like some kind of generic frangrance oil, nothing essential about it. I understand someone not being able to afford the price of essential oils, and it does limit the amount of soap I can make, but it's worth it to me to wait until I can spend the $$ for quality.
