Guest guest
Bob, I don't know what state you live in, but if you plan on getting the EPA involved, I hope you have better luck than I did. Around here, not only didn't the EPA care that this apt. building is loaded with mold, but HUD didn't care, Code Enforcement didn't care, and even the Health Dept. didn't care. And when I wrote to the local newspaper, I never heard a word from them. When it comes to the Zithromax, I'm a little confused. You stated you got a 4-day supply. It's my understanding that you have to take it for 5 days, and that it continues working for 5 days after you take the last dose. My doctor put me on that last weekend, but unfortunately, I could not take it - got very dizzy. In one of your other posts you mentioned possibly going to Mexico. If you go, I certainly hope you are fluent in Spanish. Furthermore, it is my understanding, you have to buy the health insurance that Mexico has, because the health insurance that you have in the U.S., is not acceepted in Mexico, and I don't think you would want to end up in one of the ambulances, or in one of the hospitals (if you can even call some of those places hospitals) where the people without insurance have to go. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. There are several places in Mexico with a very high population of people from America and Canada and the health care is acually better than I get in Oklahoma. Of course you have to pay for it or get their insurance. also it is a hassle to get prescriptions sent to me there. I lived in a place named San de de the winter of 2002-2003. That was when I first started noticing what would later show a mold problem. I felt really good there and felt bad here within a week. Mexico housing is not mold-proof as this woman I know told me she once had mold growing on her inside wall but their housing is much better for us than the average US home. When I was growing up, we moved a lot and when we lived in West Texas, I cannot recall any place we lived having carpeting. I was born in 1947 and we didn't have a/c then and kept the windows open and the sand blew in a lot. I had my carpeting taken out and replaced with linoleum and it took a few months for the linoleum odor to leave. It is probably better for me but it stays cold so I guess that was a problem with wooden floors also. It seems the recent inventions have made our life easier but maybe at too high of a price.
