Guest guest
Ok, thanks. I never did find the master gardener kits. I saw them mentioned in one of their videos and looked and looked but never found them. So you don't object to their soil plugs for what they are made of, just their cost? I want to be sure I am growing in the best medium health wise. Velda On 1/17/2012 6:03 AM, wrote: > Velda, each aerogarden comes with pre seeded " grow pods " . Guest guest
I wouldn't be OVERLY concerned about the soil plugs that come with the kit, and I have used them, but I prefer more organic ones-coir is wonderful-you can buy the coir liners for planters for about 3 dollars at Lowes or Home Depot,, then snip off enough to form into a little cone, tuck it in the basket and you are good to go.Sent from my iPadOn Jan 17, 2012, at 4:34 PM, Velda <solomon@...> wrote: Ok, thanks. Guest guest
Thanks for the input. Husband seems to be in approval for doing this, even buying one at sale price online, as long as I can grow catnip for his kitty. haha Velda On 1/17/2012 3:24 PM, Berry wrote: I wouldn't be OVERLY concerned about the soil plugs that come with the kit, and I have used them, but I prefer more organic ones-coir is wonderful-you can buy the coir liners for planters for about 3 dollars at Lowes or Home Depot,, then snip off enough to form into a little cone, tuck it in the basket and you are good to go. Guest guest
I am betting when I grow anything green and leafy, our two 4 footed girls will help themselves. When I bring groceries home, and set them down, they are right in there looking for green stuff and pulling it off bite by bite, until I can get it put away. And they do have their own "grass" growing, but prefer anything new into the kitchen. One has even tried the leaves on the pepper plant spending it's winter in our sunroom. I thought that was weird. Guest guest
My daughter's kitty is NOT allowed in the main part of my house for that very reason! She is banished to downstairs only-she goes crazy for my aerogardens when I have them on the go!Sent from my iPadOn Jan 17, 2012, at 10:43 PM, Velda <solomon@...> wrote: I am betting when I grow anything green and leafy, our two 4 footed girls will help themselves. Guest guest
LOL, our girls "run" this household they are so spoiled. I was not a cat person when I married Mel. He is the primary cat person and you can tell by the way the 4 footed girls worship him in various ways. I love them, but would choose not to have pets, so we could travel more easily, but he wants them and because of his many painful disabilities, I try to let him have his way on certain things. They are funny girls. They are 1/4 and 1/16 African Serval cat (being Savannah cats) and are really amazing.
