We have just started growing Jerusilem Artichokes. They are yummy raw and cooked. We just had them cooked like you would home fries and spooooo yummy.KathyOn Fri, Jan 13, 2012 at 10:46 AM, <berrywell@...> wrote:

, I bet you have answered this before, but my brain is just not

finding it. What do YOU do with your cooked pumpkin seeds you pull out?

Do you roast them? Toss in compost (obviously they are no longer raw). OR?

You will not believe how much easier it is to place a pumpkin whole

in a solar oven, then when done and cooled, it comes open and you

scoop seeds out. And Yes, it is delicious no matter how you prepare

it.

After they have been cooked and dehydrated, are the shells easier to eat than raw to roasted? (You eat the shells right?) I've eaten the shells of pumpkin seeds that I've roasted from raw and they were way to fibrous for my enjoyment ;-)

So, you dehydrate, rather than toast them. Interesting. What temp do you

set the dehydrator and how long? I have 2 pumpkins here I want to solar

cook and do seeds.

Yes, I eat shells and all. I don't like the shells if they are roasted, but dehydrating seems to make them break up more easily, more crumbly.Sent from my iPadOn Jan 13, 2012, at 8:25 PM, Lea Ann Savage <lsavage@...> wrote:

Ok, thanks. I can do that. The excaliber is out in the sun room, so I

can't recall it's highest temp, but it should be fun to try.
