Guest guest
I was checking out youtube and saw a recipe for almond butter with raw almonds. all of the peanut butter recipes I have seen say to use dry roasted peanuts, but I was wondering if you can use raw peanuts to make peanut butter with? Is it the same process? Thanks.
Guest guest
You can - it is REALLY difficult and IMO it is no longer raw after processing because it gets very hot. Raw almonds have very little natural oil. You will need extra oil and quit a bit of it. Guest guest
, I saw the same video on YouTube. What ended up working for me was a two step process. I ground the nuts till they were like grit. (in my case, I took it out thinking it was a failure. When I read Lee Ann's post, the next day, I put the ground nuts back in the container and used the tamper aggressively in the corners and it turned to butter. YUM! next time, I'll leave the nuts in the container and wait till cooler and then grind it into butter. Figure a two step process. > > > I was checking out youtube and saw a recipe for almond butter with raw almonds. all of the peanut butter recipes I have seen say to use dry roasted peanuts, but I was wondering if you can use raw peanuts to make peanut butter with? Guest guest
Tree nuts are very different from peanuts, which are (on the roots of the plant) soft, and bitter, until boiled, or roasted.
