Todays Smoothie and a Question

Hi All

I've been having regular smoothies via the VitaMix green smoothie chart. I read

that you should vary the green veggies so for the next few days I'll be using 2

cups spinach.

2 cups spinach

4 sprigs of parsley

1 kiwi

1 banana

3/4 cup frozen vanilla yogurt

3 ice cubes

This is really delicious but doesn't seem to hold my appetite as along as the

pear.

I've also been making pureed veggie soups in the evening to have with my

husband. Would Arrow Root starch be better then corn starch? How much?

Thanks in advance.

Different fruits and veggies will vary on how fast they digest, and whatever

fats you consume that day can slow digestion, making you hungrier faster.

Adding a few chia, flax, or sunflower or pumpkin seeds, and/or a few almonds or

other nuts, will help fill you up for longer. As for thickening your soups with

corn starch...there should be no need to thicken them with ANY starch-just use a

bit less liquid if you want it nice and thick. I hardly add any liquid at all

to mine. For example, my cauliflower soup is NOTHING but cauliflower florrets,

a pinch of sea salt and a handful of homemade cheddar cheese-if it doesn't start

to whir up right away, I add a spoonful or two of hot water (or broth) to get it

started, but the thickness comes from less liquid-no need for any thickeners.

,

Thanks for the input on this. I have both sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds in

the house. Maybe I'll had that to tomorrow's smoothie.

BTW, my mayo knife came today. It looks like it's going to work perfectly.

Thanks again.

Gosh this sounds good. Is your cauliflower cooked first. I am

so surprised you don't need water!

Yes, I steam the cauli first...I steam extra and keep it on hand in my fridge

too, so it's always ready to make a quick soup. It comes out SO rich and creamy

you would swear it was laded with butter and cream. I just finished a big mug of

it! Delish!
