That is of course Lea Ann's choice, but the sugar issue does come up often, and

usually does get a bit heated. I think that is because it seems that each is

trying to present their case, validate their own reasons, etc. I do think the

sugar topic SHOULD be discussed, because it is relevent to what ingredients go

in to smoothies and other recipes, but I agree that we all need to be more

tolerant of each others CHOICE to use whatever we think is best. As for

politics, PULEEESE lets not discuss them on here...enough of that on the TV!

Lea Ann is busy at a show this week, so I am trying to keep on top of group

topics for her, but she will make this decision when she can. In the meantime,

perhaps we can all be more careful in our wording so as not to offend the

choices of others.

I don't see a problem. Everyone seemed respectful of each other.

Everyone is different.

Some eat gluten, meat, paleo, cooked, raw etc.

Someone may share a link or information that I'm not interested in

right now.

(Solar ovens) but I'll save it for future use.

If they already did the research and have the links it save me time.

Some may share info on Kefir which I'll probably never be interested

in.

That is what the delete button is for.

That's my $0.03

I agree with Tony. Information is a good thing. No one slammed anyone. •Robbin On Jan 29, 2012, at 10:10 PM, Tony Szpara <tszpara@...> wrote:

I'm with Tony. Thanks for your insight, Tony. BTW-- I see the price for opinions is also affected by inflation. LOLBarb T.  :-)On Sun, Jan 29, 2012 at 10:10 PM, Tony Szpara <tszpara@...> wrote:

I have appreciated the sugar/sweetener discussions and my opinion concerning artificial chemical sweeteners differs from Amy's as well.

Ann, the subject was not about chemical sweeteners. The

subject was alternative sugars, and that includes stevia. Stevia

is used as an alternative to sugar.

The subject of real sugar is a topic that relates to diabetes

and cancer.

One resource on the topic of sugar is Dr. Lustig's lecure

called “Sugar: The Bitter Truth,” which was posted on

YouTube The video has been viral for some time now, so you

may have already watched.

Lustig is a specialist on hormone disorders and the leading

expert in childhood obesity at the University of California, San

Francisco, School of Medicine. The lecture is not about "chemical

sugars", it is about sugar and fructose.

Here is a short, easy-to-read article on how cancer uses sugar.
