Guest guest
I would think that if you bought all your stuff, you could make 2 weeks worth of smoothies and freeze them in individual portions. Then you would just have to defrost for a few seconds in the mirco and throw it in the vitamix. I have found that in general adding a pinch of salt and some fat to things that going to be frozen helps them not get freezerburn so quickly. Everything can be frozen. I haven't found anything yet that can't be frozen since your throwing it in a blended drink!!Stacey On Thu, Jan 26, 2012 at 12:43 PM, A <streymaven@...> wrote: I remember that there was a thread some time ago when someone asked for shopping/vitamix hints because he/she was unable to shop more than every two weeks. Someone who is considering getting a vitamix has asked me if it is possible to make smoothies every day if he could only get to the store every 2 weeks. I've searched for the thread but I am not being successful in finding that thread. Does anyone remember it and, if so, will you tell me how to find it?Thank you so much!I love this group. Guest guest
The surest way to prevent freezer burn is to seal your packages in a vacuum sealer. There are many on the market but I use a FoodSaver. Along with sealing food for long term storage I seal my sterling to keep it shiny so I don't have to clean it for every dinner party.TerrySent from my iPadOn Jan 27, 2012, at 4:12 PM, Diane Kolack <dkolack@...> wrote: I would think that if you bought all your stuff, you could make 2 weeks worth of smoothies and freeze them in individual portions. Guest guest
I love my food saver. My son has deployed four times and it kept his goodies I sent him every time. •Robbin On Jan 27, 2012, at 5:39 PM, Terry Pogue <tpogue@...> wrote: The surest way to prevent freezer burn is to seal your packages in a vacuum sealer.
