What seems to work the best is the non-flush niacin

capsules. One or two of them three times a day. That

should take care of it. They are safe and do not

cause the unpleasant flushing associated with higher

doses of niacin.

For regular cramps, calcium, potassium, magnesium,

and vitamin E would be enough. At 84, anybody should

be taking a supplement with those ingredients anyway.

Also, to oxygenate, Vit. O drops would be recommended.

If you wanted to add cayenne pepper, that too would increase

circulation, but I don't see that it is needed to help her.

The 'non-flush' version of Niacin is known as niacinimide,

and is very effective at dilating the blood vessels deep in

the body tissues and organs, while regular niacin is

effective at dilating the surface blood vessels (hence the

'flush'). Also, you develop a tolerance to the flush effect

fairly quickly, which suggests to me that your surface blood

vessels are STAYING open.

That's true about niacinamide, but actually I was referring to

inositol hexanicotinate. I am thinking about a formula that

has that plus chromium and vitamin C in it. It seems to

work really fast on intermittent claudication. I don't know

if the niacinamide would do that, although I think it is

supposed to be pretty good on arthritic knee pain. It is

a deep vasodilator so you would think it would work,

but I would suggest looking for the inositol hexanicotinate.

Any idea as to the manufacturer of the formula you refer to?

Go to a health food store and ask for non-flush niacin with

inositol hexanicotinate or just nose around in the B vitamins.

I would think that you can find it. I order mine through the mail.

Take it for about three days and if it doesn't help, double the dose

until you find a dose that does. One caution: just because it works,

don't think that once the symptoms go away, you can stop. The

problem will probably come back within a week. Just be thankful

for something that works and stay on it.

Good luck.
