Hmmmm, I make fresh cranberry sauce, using splenda, this does

sound good!

If interested: 1 orange with half the peel removed, one bag of fresh

cranberries, 1 Gala apple and 1/3 cup Splenda "Granules".

Using tamper, quickly advance VitaMix to speed 10. In a

matter of seconds you have fresh cranberry sauce. And

yes I do use 1/2 of the orange, orange rind. It's best when

chilled in fridg. for an hour, or so.

FDA has "poo poo" the claims because of the amount ofartificial sweetner (given the rats) it took, to cause problems. After diet sodas came out, there was a loud alarm about cancer, and, all kinds of other medical problems the sweeteners used, were causing in rats. But, a human would have to consume morethan 200 sodas a day, for years, to equal ( pound for pound) the amount the rats were given. The same thing happened a few years after saccrine became sopopular. From: Lucille <lschacht@...> Sent: Saturday, January 28, 2012 1:25 PM Subject: About Splenda

Diet sodas leech calcium from your bones. It keeps you craving sweets. The sweetener is not healthy. The cans are aluminum. Water or tea for better health. •Robbin On Jan 28, 2012, at 6:27 PM, Carrol Ganoe <pilgrimbrooks@...> wrote:

I don't trust Splenda or any of the other artificial ones. They trick your body

and actually make you hold onto weight instead of losing it. Not to mention the

headaches and other horrible symptoms they cause. Plus, I trust what the

natural health studies show, not what conventional doctors tell you. They just

want you to stay sick so they can collect your money. Eat healthy, stay away

from ANYTHING artificial, and you will be much better off! ~katie

I have read several times recently that artificial sweetners trick you

into maintaining a high level of desire for sweet and super sweet foods,

yet provide no calories, therefore make you want to eat more to make up

the calories, often by eating more sweet foods because you crave the

sweet. It's a never ending battle of wanting more sweet.

Well, except that its well known that the

corporations who produce these toxics pay for the main studies that “proveâ€

their safety.  And, believe it or not, these companies are not required to

publish ALL the studies, like for instance the ones that show the toxicity.

They’re allowed to just publish and cite the favorable ones and keep the others

hushed up.

Also, what with the truly staggering

burden of toxic chemicals we are all subjected to these days, it may not take a

lot of splenda to provide the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

My sentiments EXACTLY, Neil! We are inundated with artificial and chemical stuff all day, every day, so I figure if we actually have a choice about what we CONSUME into our body, then we are better off. I avoid anything artificial or chemical-there are always better options from whole foods.Sent from my iPadOn Jan 28, 2012, at 7:37 PM, "Neil Rhoads" <neilinthegarden@...> wrote:

The sad fact, of which I became aware as a Nurse (RN) many years

ago, is, doctors do not generally get as much nutritional training

as a nurse does in their schooling. So, I think it is quite

possible, unless the OB has taken extra training on nutrition, that

they are as mislead as the rest of us on stuff such as artificial

sweeteners. I took several Nutrition classes in school then

continued my learning in the area over the past 41 years since

graduation, and yet I still feel I am learning each day.

One Dr in a lecture said when he went to med school, they only had 4 hours of nutrition. Anyone with arthritic? I take "New Zealand Green lip mussels". They make an extract from them in a capsule. It works real good for me.

For a time a few years ago I sold a green powder product (gave it up

as I felt it was way too expensive). One of the gals I met had a

recurring breast cancer. Her doctors tried to tell her NOT to drink

any of those "weird" green drinks as they might interfere with her

treatment. They told her that same day  to get her affairs in order

as she would not iive more than six weeks. She ignored them. She

drank her Green drink several times a day. She lived another two

years, and more important to her, her quality of life was good

almost to the end, where the doctors had promised her only a drug

induced haze for her last six weeks. We all learned from her during

that two years.

The doctors did not mean any "harm" they simply, esp in this

litigious climate, would rather play safe and say "don't do that"

than ,give it a try, to protect their own living. Some few "rebels"

such as Weil and Mercola and others whose names escape me at moment,

will continue their studies and encourage patients to use their own

instincts and combine medical with nutritional info to get the best

possible outcome.

consume such things is of course a personal choice, but it

doesn't hurt to do your own research and draw your own

They probably would OK it because most likely they are reading the studies funded by the manufacturers same as they go by the studies provided by the drug company reps when they prescribe so many medications which ultimately prove to be unsafe! Just my opinion.

When asked if diet soda is safe to drink, while pregnant: Melinda dietitianYes, as long as you don't overdo the caffeine, which you'll want to limit to 200 mg per day.The non-nutritive sweeteners used in these drinks are considered safe, especially if you're drinking them in moderation. If you like these drinks, you can allow yourself a can or two a day, but make sure you're also drinking

Good for you! I love it when a doctor actually pays attention to

I did the math on Splenda as well don't be fooled by what you read, I switched to organic stevia that I know is safe and it's not a modified chemical...watch the Movie called Food Inc. plus along with the testimony of a dear friend who is a chemist for a very Large food company tells us all not to eat any processed foods as the big processed food co are sleeping in bed with the pharmaceutical company's to make our food taste good the chemicals like a drug keep you craving for more and the drug company makes the drug to counteract the effects of those chemicals and the government supports the pharmaceutical co (FDA) etc. because it's not about us it's all about the money..most Dr.s are in it for the money they get paid whether you live or die some Dr.s truly care about people You just have to look a little harder they are out there and they do care. but we are so use to living in a world that puts up a good front for mankind and we have a hard time believing otherwise...just saying...as your journey continues into healthier choices you will start to see what a deceptive world we live in...Read the China Study by Dr. T Colin ..what an eye opener...living a plant based food lifestyle and loving it..best of luck in your journey for truth.Sent from my iPad

I have read the many posts on Splenda and wanted to share that I have seen the

research about the effect it has on your brain and typically makes people desire

more sweets. It only makes sense to use whole food for sweeteng. Bananas,

dates prunes in a vitamix provide typically enough sweetness. For those of you

that love your sodas and milk, both cause acidic conditions and will leech

calcium out of your bones, there is research on people not rats showing this.

Not to get persnickity, but that response alone shows the dieticians ignorance

about recommending soda, when she says it is okay to " have a can or TWO a day " .

Most people don't realize that a " serving size " in a can of soda is less than

one half of the can-the " servings per can " label on the back of a can shows that

it is 2.5, meaning that the nutrition info (calories, sugars, etc) is based on

that amount PER serving-not the entire can. I use a Sodastream home soda maker

to make wonderful soda-you can buzz up some fresh ginger, dates, agave nectar,

berries, etc. in the Vitamix to make your own flavoring, then carbonate plain

water in the Sodastream to add to it, avoiding the sugars, chemicals, or

preservatives in canned soda. I think there are others on the list that use

the Sodastream too. I sometimes see them on ebay and Amazon, or you can see

them at http://www.mymealmasters.com in the webstore.

Very interesting video. I can say that I got a metallic taste that

lasted several days after each time I tried Aspartame (I am not a

slow learner but wanted to be sure what was causing the problem,

which , at first I did not attribute to the sweetener). I also got

Migraine headaches from even a packet in ice tea.

I watch carefully to make sure I don't ingest foods containing

Aspartame.

Yes, as long as you don't overdo the caffeine, which

The non-nutritive sweeteners used in these

My headaches started when the Coke company added the aspartame to the saccharin

in TAB back when I was 12. I had severe headaches and the doctors couldn't

figure out why. I heard about the side effects of aspartame and quit drinking

pop all together and BOOM!, my headaches went away!!! Haven't had a drop since.

I had a violent allergic to aspartame when it first came out and was given to me

in a medication! I have avoided all artificial sweeteners since-dont ever want

to experience such a thing again. I know it was the aspartame, as I had taken

the medicine previously, but reacted only after they changed the formula and

added aspartame. Since the hospital had a record of the reaction, when I needed

a barrium swallow for a test a year later, I had to DRINK the barrium ENEMA

solution to avoid the aspartame-same stuff in both I guess, but they don't

" flavor " what goes in the other end, lol.
