Some fruits freeze better than others.  I think if you freeze banannas you have to remove the skins first.  I have a food saver, but have only frozen berries as far as fruit goes.

That's how I freeze bananas in zip lock bags.

Hi! I freeze bananas quite often and found this solution...at least it has been working for me. Peel the banana and wrap each one individually in saran wrap, or foil. When I used to wrap them all together they would often turn brown, but alone seems to work.Ronaye

I put archived this discussion thread in the links under:Links > Food Preparation and Storage Tips/links/Food_Preparation_and_Storage_Tips_001328221951/Personally, I just peel bananas and toss them all into a gallon zip lock bag and freeze (I don't worry about them turning brown, and my husband uses them a lot, so they rarely have a chance to get brown). But when we have an abundance of bananas, we do get a bag now and then that is quite brown.IF you want to keep them nice and white you can put them in a zip lock bag (either whole or cut up, pour in some lemon juice and squish around until they are coated with lemon juice, then flash freeze them before sealing them up with the Food Saver)I Flash Freeze pineapple before storing in zip lock bags because it is nearly impossible to pry chunks of pineapple apart once they are frozen together. To flash freeze - cut the fruit up into whatever size chunks you want and lay them out (without touching) on a large cookie sheet and place in the freezer just until the outside of the fruit is good and frozen (you don't have to wait until the whole fruit is frozen through). Then, when you transfer them into a bag for storage, they don't stick together!

For my mother's fantastic banana bread we have always frozen the bananas IN

their skins. Simply remove it from the freezer, let it thaw a short while, slice

it lengthwise and it comes right out.

If you're planning on using half bananas, it may not work as easily. We also

over ripen them to increase the natural sugar and mushy, liquidy texture for the

bread.

I always peel the bananas before putting them in the freezer and they stay nice

& white.

If you don't the peel turns black and they're really difficult to peel

I have a food saver but don't even bother for the banana's.. I just unzip them

from their skins and toss them into a regular freezer zip lock bag..They get

used pretty quickly in our smoothies but never have noticed that they got brown.

They aren't quite as white as fresh but certainly not brown.more cream colored.

I learned my lesson about flash freezing when I did not do that with fresh

peaches. They turned into a big glob in the baggie.
