I made some homemade lara bars this morning.  I read all the posts last night and decided to soak my dates and dried cranberries overnight.  This morning I drained them, put them into the Vitamix and blended slowly from 1 to 4 and had the top off and used my Vitamix spatula to push the stuff in the corners back to the center.  It did not overheat the machine and only took a few seconds.  Then I got out my dry container and ground up some walnuts.  I emptied both containers into a bowl and added vanilla powder, cinnamon, ginger powder, sesame and sunflower seeds, quinoa pops (like puffed rice) and shredded coconut.  Then I pressed it into a container and put in the freezer for 1/2 hour.  Got it out and cut into squares which I rolled in more coconut and wrapped individually in plastic wrap and put in a bag in the freezer.  Very tasty and good after exercising or when you are on the run.  Success!
