Guest guest
I have used the Samson and I like it very much. I also have a very old tried and true Champion that doesn't do wheatgrass. One thing I had to get used to with the Samson was the slow speed for everything you juice. Otherwise, all the fancy dancy options appeased my creative side. Alas, I gave it to a less fortunate friend and I now have a hand crank model for wheatgrass and back to the dinosaur Champion for everything else. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Dear Kittyfish, Where did you buy your handcrank model? I live in Hawaii and there are none available on the iland of Hawaii that I can find. The class action on the Broccosprout patent is common knowledge among the commercial (not me) sprouters here. Thanks for the complete run down. TeeJay

Guest guest
Thanks Kitty. I'm real patient when it comes to working in the kitchen so the Samson will probably suit me just fine. I think I'll get one. Marilyn --- Kitty Fish <kittyfish1@...> wrote: > I have used the Samson and I like it very much. I > also have a very old tried and true Champion that > doesn't do wheatgrass. Guest guest
Do you spit out what's left after you chew the juice out of it? Actually, that's what I've been doing with it, but I certainly can't get it chewed up enough to swallow. Guest guest
don't try to chew the whole wad at once. maybe blend it with other stuff, like chia maybe. or spit it out, it's renewable. I love it. Someday, I'll have a Green Star, but this one really does the trick and has a lower price than most all other juicers. Excellent design and plastic materials. Easy to use, worth thinking about. I use it every day for greens, fresh ginger (a no-no in the Vita Mix due to dulling the blades), fruits, etc. There's a lotta juice in ginger, incidentally. Anyhow, you might like to think about this one : http://www.zstarjuicer.com/ You can just stick a Solo plastic cup on the end to catch the pulp, incidentally. Makes it very easy. Guest guest
Don, did you have a specific question about wheat grass juice? I've done quite a bit of wheat grass juicing. I also have a good friend in Hawaii who grows wheat grass (and other juicing sprouts) for a living. Last time I visited him (along with Jerry Brunetti) he made all three of us a drink using about 8 oz of wgj per person. We were feeling travel toxic from bad food, hotels and airplanes and gulped the delicious elixer down. But then... It hit us all at about the same milisecond and he only had one bathroom! It wasn't a pretty scene! I love the stuff, and I think cereal grass juicing probably played a huge part in saving JBs life in his cancer recovery, but it's strong! This is a good chelator of heavy metals, good for liver cleansing and all-around good for health. If you are recuperating from something, this could be your ticket. Jerry recommends mixing oats, wheat, rye, and barley grasses for the ultimate benefit. Just go slow with it and work your way up starting at 1/2-1 oz daily. You can also mix it with carrot or other vegetable juices if you don't like the flavor. For some, it's just too " moving " to be enjoyable. A good local place to get organic wgj is at the Ecopolitan Restaurant and Juice bar on Lyndale Ave just off lin. Also the Wedge juice bar. Most of the Jamba places use non- organic wheat (I think). MAKING YOUR OWN Best if you grow your own sprouts from wheat berries. Use soil on a cafeteria tray in good light for indoors, or grow it in greenhouses or outdoors in the summer. You will need a special juicer for cereal grass. Will

Guest guest
The fiber of grass cant be digested by humans so eating grass whole is a bad idea.I do make grass juice with my vita prep 3 by straining with a nut milk bag.The blending into mush is a bit hard on the blender and I wouldnt try it with a 2hp peak model.I have pics. of my grass and the juicing of grass in the photos section of this group.I have made rejuvelac in the past and drank a quart a day. Does anybody know why I could'nt. Also, is anybody making rejuvelac from wheet berries? If so, how much do you drink. Guest guest
Thank you Don for the terrific article on Wheat Grass. Here is a reply I made to that article: As you may know the periodic chart of elements contains 92 elements. Two of those ellements are only found in meteorites. The other 90 elements are found in the deep ocean water. The wheat berry will uptake all 90 of those elements. Wheat grass exposed to OceanSolution from OceanGrown.com contains all 90 elements. Fertilizers commonly used in farming contain at most 17 of these elements. Organic fertilizers contain at most 27 of these elements. The missing rare earths in these formulas are important for human and animal health. - OceanSolution is drawn up from 1.5 miles down in the ocean far from polluted shore lines. This deep ocean water is partially desalinated and concentrated so that is mixed one to 100 with pure water. It is deal if that pure water has a 5.5 pH. Phytoplankton and bacteria that fix nitrogen are added to the concentrated solution. - I have a friend who is an 82 year old very prominent doctor at the University of Minnesota. He has been using OceanSolution on his dalias(?). They are flowers that he has won championships with in flower whows. He has been treating these flowers with OceanSolution mixed with 5.5 pH Kangen Water. He showed me the flowers recently. They were gorgeious. He told me that he had never raised such big beautiful blooms. He was very excited. - He told me that he is about to be named Alumnus of the year at a big dinner on October 15, 2010. He is in the 9th week of FDA approved clinical trials with 140 children with very serious cancers. He is using products he developed containing oil from orgnic berry seeds and juice from organic berries. Earlier small trials produced outstanding results and he says that the current large trial is going much better than even he expected. - I suspect he may using OceanSolution on some berry plants and may have already done testing on nutritional content. - Use of OceanSolution on 25,000 acres of corn and wheat in the midwest got: a $32 an acre reduction in production cost, an increase in yields, and a great icrease in both quantity and numbers of nutrients in the corn and wheat. - Phil Ratte' 763-432-3039
Guest guest
I was wondering if you do not eat wheat can you grow and eat wheat grass?  Also I tried grinding some organic popcorn to attempt to make grits. I did not get uniform pieces - there were whole corn kernels and some corn flour. Any trick to grinding evenly when not wanting it all to be flour? I did cook the stuff and I got a stomach ache so maybe popcorn is not the right kind of corn to grind up.  Janet
Guest guest
It depends on your reasons for not eating wheat. I am allergic to wheat and celiac, so I avoid wheat grass, but do grow buckwheat and other microgreens instead. Did you use the dry container for your popcorn? The dry container is the only way to get it uniform-such a hard grain it won't do well in the wet container. For grits, you would actually need alkali treated hominy, not popcorn, but you can make decent corn meal from it. Only reason it should have given you a stomach ache is if it wasn't cooked properly, or perhaps you have a mild intolerance to it? > > I was wondering if you do not eat wheat can you grow and eat wheat grass? > > Also I tried grinding some organic popcorn to attempt to make grits.
