Guest guest
Debbie, there is a VERY STRONG chance that the CAUSE of his eczema is a hidden food allergy or intolerence....wheat is very often the culprit of skin issues. I recommend considering keeping a food journal and/or doing an elimination diet to see if you can isolate the cause. Many times, just switching to ORGANIC versions of a potential allergen is enough to resolve the issue, since you then avoid many of the pesticides and other things that could be causing it. In any case, there are several good " recipes " you can do in the Vitamix for relief. Avocado, pulsed into a fine puree is great to slather on the hands, then cover them with white cotton gloves for 15 or 20 minutes, then rinse (the gloves can be easily rinsed off) You can also use homemade yogurt or butter. When I make butter from raw cream in the Vitamix, I use the residue that is left in the container to slather all over as a body moisturizer and hair conditioner-WONDERFUL as a beauty treatment. You can also buzz up some organic flax seeds, a bit of raw oatmeal, and some sunflower or olive oil to make a great skin conditioner. With the oil type, just smooth on a little bit while still damp from a hot shower-a little goes a long way and makes skin feel great! > > This may possibly be off topic do I do apologise if it's in the wrong place. My partner has terrible eczema in his hands and especially when it is cold, they crack and bleed. Does anyone have any homemade lotion suggestions I could mix up in the vitamix? His hands are so dry and he has tried prescription and pretty much every commercial moisturiser/lotion. > > Any help appreciated. > > Debbie. >
Guest guest
Thanks . I've been barking up that tree for a while but he's not interestedin that. Too much like hard work for him! Doesn't mind moaning to me constantly though We do eat a lot of organic produce and avoid nearly all processed foods. I'll give those a try in the vitamix, hopefully it may help! Guest guest
I have that problem of my hands cracking in the creases of the skin. I take a couple of Horsetail capsules a couple of times a day and a zinc tablet 50 mg. The horsetail is very high in silica and is very good for healing skin and also helps broken bones to heal faster. It also makes the bones stronger. Good also for hair.
