Guest guest
Hi and welcome to our group. My name is Jerri and I also live in LA. I am 50 years old with geno type 1 which I believe that I have had for 33 years. This is a great place to be to not feel alone. I live alone as well as know how hard it can be. I have been in treatment for the past 7 months. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. Jerri --- doglionboat wrote: > I am bazooka I am new today. Guest guest
It's called Brain fog Bazooka. Next time you see your doctor ask him to test your ammonia levels. When your liver is bad, sometimes it doesn't clean out all the ammonia we take in in various foods. The ammonia rises in your bloodstream & causes what the docs call "hepatic encephalopathy" & we call brain fog, brain cramp & other things I can't write here because of Yahoo's idea of obscene language(no 4 letter words & especially no 10 & 12 letter ones.) Anyways, you forget things. I even heard of someone who got lost on her way home from the supermarket! My ammonia is high so sometimes I get foggy & forget stuff like what I was doing or where I'm going. Write everything down. Make lists & lists of lists, they help, if you remember them hehehe. When you say chemo, that's what we call tx or treatment. It's one shot a week(self administered) and 5 or 6 pills a day - it's weight based, you take more if you weigh more. I was around 200 when I did tx & took 6 a day - 3 in the morning & 3 at night. It's not fun but if it works for you your problems are over. Guest guest
This disease effects your memory badly.I worked in nursing homes and extended care units and had to write everything down so I wouldn't forget anything.Treatment will make memory problems worse.Depending on how badly damaged your liver is can effect you memory if you are building up emonia levels.Have you had a biopsy yet to find out how your liver is? Hi Idaho know it well spent quite a bit of time there. I love Sand Point and that area. When I was in the 4th grade my teacher could hear me talking in the next bungalow so she called me in and named me Bazooka .Been that way ever since as I have a deep booming voice.Seeing as now I can't hear well why its even louder. I have spent a fair amount of time McCall,Pocatello,Boise, and Mountain home is that right my memory is not so good anymore. Any members with treament who have had Alzheimers in their line and the effects of treatments on their memories ? Regards Bazooka
