Guest guest
Hi Bazooka, Sorry, I misunderstood but if you have cirrhosis, which I do, brain fog is not usually far away. I'm untreatable now, in what they call ESLD or end stage liver disease. The only thing left for me is a transplant but they say not yet. When you see the hepatologist he'll probably want to do a biopsy which is good, it'll tell you exactly where you are. We have at least one member who is on tx even though she has cirrhosis so it is possible. One of us did tx after a transplant. There are a lot of new treatments down the line, that's what a lot of us are waiting for, but they still have to go through the test, study & approval route. We'll see. When your liver is bad, sometimes it doesn't clean out all the ammonia we take in in various foods. The ammonia rises in your bloodstream & causes what the docs call "hepatic encephalopathy" & we call brain fog, brain cramp & other things I can't write here because of Yahoo's idea of obscene language(no 4 letter words & especially no 10 & 12 letter ones.) Anyways, you forget things. I even heard of someone who got lost on her way home from the supermarket! My ammonia is high so sometimes I get foggy & forget stuff like what I was doing or where I'm going. Write everything down. Make lists & lists of lists, they help, if you remember them hehehe. When you say chemo, that's what we call tx or treatment. It's one shot a week(self administered) and 5 or 6 pills a day - it's weight based, you take more if you weigh more. I was around 200 when I did tx & took 6 a day - 3 in the morning & 3 at night. It's not fun but if it works for you your problems are over. SuZie . One caution, though, A friend was feeding his litter of baby rabbits 100% produce and they got diarrhia and died! he said the vet said that they needed alfalfa pellets to be healthy. That sounds kind of weird to me and in any event it's third hand information. I just tend to trust vets more than people doctors. Guest guest
I was thinking to try that. I would have to wait of course for them to get it in once ordered which can take up to 6 weeks. They do carry the rolled oats, but not the feed. I in fact did call them looking for organic hay and feed grains to see if they could point me in the right direction locally. They did not offer to offer in unhulled oats. That wouldn't stop me from asking them! LOL They are open on Sunday's so I will call them today. Thanks! > > > > Hi, > > I just joined last night. I have rabbits that I want to feed sprouts > > to. Since then I have had a craniotomy and two partial nephrectomies (one on each kidney). With this disease, I have gained being anemic, hypothyroidism, kidney renal tumors, and gastritis. I try to eat right, exercise, and take it one day at a time. The pain has gotten worse over the last few months, and I admit there are days when I want to stay in bed. I do not want pain meds if I can help it. I have even considered Yoga. There is a local place that ofers it two mornings a week, and I am considering it. I have my scans again on Monday, so hopefully the pain is only part of it. Dealing with the adjustment of being disabled and changes have been the hardest for me. But it is getting easier for me. I have accepted that fact, and decided to try my best to make it as positive. My businesses have been slow for the last few months, so it has been frustrating.
