Hello ,This is a great (and frequently asked) question! You can use the wet container to grind dry ingredients (though it won't do as good a job as a dedicated dry container will)/message/18354But you cannot use the dry container to do "wet" applications (like smoothies, soups, etc.). The dry container is designed to blow things up into the container to separate pieces, and to keep the contents as cool as possible. This does not cause things to get smooth like the wet blade does. The dry container would probably be better than a "regular" blender, but it wouldn't come close to making something like a smoothie like a wet container would.Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)))><'>www.VitamixLady.comwww..com<:)))><

Can I use my large dry container for wet (smoothies, etc.) blending? Will it have the same outcome? Will it damage the containter at all?

TIA!
