Guest guest
Came on a sale on " raw " almonds and want to stock up. For long term storage, do you freeze as is or soak first and then freeze? Use foodsaver or not? Will probably use them mostly for almond milk. Guest guest
Keep in mind that unless they are imported from another country, they aren't truly raw. Our FDA decided that all almonds must irradiated or otherwise pasteurized, so you can't get true raw almonds grown in the States. They should be fine to store in mason jars (I have an attachment that vac seals my jars) in a foodsaver bag OR frozen-any method should be fine since they are unlikely to be truly raw. If they ARE imported and truly raw, you will want to be sure to get any air out with a food vac to prevent them from going rancid too quickly. > > Came on a sale on " raw " almonds and want to stock up.
