Why not eliminate any possibility of oxidative damage, and cut off all oxygen to the body. Let 'em breathe pure hydrogen. Perfect! The only scientific work of any worth on this line is the investigation of the cancer cell's immortality, due to its retention of the telomeres (chromosome coil end caps) through blocking the action of the enzyme telomerase. If normal oxygen breathing cells could be induced to block telomerase as a matter of course, and still not become runaway replicators, like cancer cells, that would produce practical immortality. Of course, ozone therapy causes big increases in the cell's output of SOD and catalase, thereby increasing cellular defenses against oxidative damage. This is the paradox of ozone.
