Good info (thanks, Neil!) but it doesn't tell the whole story, since as

we've already discussed, many of the GM material has " escaped " it's

original plants/fields/entire regions. I guess a more accurate phrase

for the " 8 " category would maybe be " deliberately GMO " , but of course we

know they're not about to do that. And just because a category is

" conventionally grown " doesn't eliminate how the seed/plant was itself

produced; it technically only refers to growing practices. We are

already beginning to see cases where the defense is saying " but I didn't

know the seed was modified " , which may well be true. Do we suppose the

Indian farmers who were sold GM seed that wouldn't germinate (to prevent

them from saving the cost of buying new seed yearly) were told the

details? They claim not and that certainly rings true, given that

thousands died as a result that fiasco. I've no doubt that if they

(Monsanto, other producers) lie to one population they'll lie to another.

So this information is good (and better than what we had before), just

so we all bear in mind the possibilities of GMO-material transfer, if

it's important to us. Darned pesky bees and wasps and ants and bats and

other critters!! How dare they?? :-)
