Guest guest
I absolutely adore rapini. It's in the mustard family and related to turnips. It's like broccoli but smaller. In the past I've steamed it, boiled it and laid it out straight in bundles with sauce or lemon squeezed over it. I've served it on buttered pasta and made a stuffing with it for chicken and pork. it's wonderful now I toss the rapini in my VitaMix and make it into a smoothie It's pungent, but has such a clean taste. I love it in smoothies, kind of get a bit of the turnip burn in my mouth as it goes down, spices up the smoothie. Adds a punch to sweeter smoothies and definately lets me know I'm drinking the more bitter herbs when I go for that flavor in my smoothie, almost all dark greens. I added a pint of fresh strawberries to my smoothie, a good hand full of rapini, couple dates, kale, chard, Mrs Dash and a tangelo off my tree. So tasty.
