Hi Kathy R.,

I know you were asking this of Kathy H., but I just had to throw my two

cents in. We wasted at least hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars

on the wrong docs - not alternative medicine but mainstream therapists

and psychiatrists who claimed to be able to treat OCD but who really

didn't have the goods on front line treatments. We experienced:

Prescribing way too low doses of medication, attributing the med side

effects to my " inability to deal with anger, " doing play therapy rather

than CBT, being told meds were all that could be done and that therapy

wasn't necessary, etc,. etc., you name it. It took several tries to

find the right treatment team. And we live in a highly urban area

between two major cities!

Kathy H. was instrumental in educating me and encouraging me to keep

trying. (Hope I'm not embarassing you, Kathy H. %o)

On top of that, we too were encouraged by well-meaning friends to try

herbs, acupuncture, and vitamins.

Keep at it, Kathy R., and trust your gut instincts.

Take care,

Lesli (Bay Area)
