My new job & toxic workplaces

This was my first day of a new job, my first since my

mold nightmare. I took a good paying contract job as

a tech writer for L3 communiciations (black boxes) and

quit after my first orientation session. They took me

into a small room with a computer where they presented

all the health warnings in working for the company

having to do with asbestos mostly, some chemicals, and

lead.

They said " this building contains asbestos " located in

specific rooms, and went on to explain all the

grotesque health consequences of asbestos poisoning

and cancer, etc. My future office was thick with

gray dust all over. The building was built in the

50's. I thought it was pretty cheap that they put all

this info on a computer screen with no hard copy,

although they had a hard copy of their " ethics "

report. Also, they can then claim that they have

warned people of the dangers, when most are nervous

about their first day at work So, I quit after an

hour. Couldn't believe it. Judi
