Thanks Dr. Rethwill,

Your apology sounds heartfelt and it tells a lot about who you are. I respect you a great deal for making this statement. I think we should all just move on, forget this and know that we all have knee jerk responses.

I apologize for sending out the photo and ask for your forgiveness. My single and initial knee jerk reaction when I first saw it was one of identifying with the suggestion of where we are possibly heading in our future healthcare nationally. I realize now that it was in poor taste and was not intended to offend anyone or initially seen as racist. I stand by and respect ANY elected official and support them the best I can. All the postings commenting about who I am and where I am do not know me or my heart. I respectfully will NEVER forward anything else in the future outside the realm of subjects related to chiropractic.

Dr. Rethwill, I commend you for your mature and thoughtful response to the storm of criticism you received which so easily could have elicited an angry, defensive posture on your part.

Bradley,

No doubt I will be joined by others who accept and appreciate your apology and understand only too well how easy it is to have a 'knee jerk' moment. Easier and easier these days with the extraordinary proliferation of email, texting and social networking sites. Lots of rope for all of us...

Thanks for coming forward. You and your heart stand in good measure today.

Brad I understand why you sent it out. One one hand it seemed funny considering the state of health care debates, without thinking over any deeper implications of the cartoon, which was negative.

I know of Brad and accept his sincerity so let's not be so hard on him.

  • 2 years later...

I am so sorry if my post was offensive in any way to anyone here. My intent is

to be caring and loving and to support everyone on the path they are on.

Please give me a moment to clarify my thoughts..

I was responding to this post by Ann (and I am new here and I thought I was

responding to her privately, because I feel her pain)...it wasn't really

centered on any one product like Splenda or anything else. I was empathizing

with her frustration in wanting to help her friend who didn't sound like she

wanted it.

Here's Ann's post to me:

Thanks, Rene. Lies, lies, and more lies from the chemical industry. My friend's

naturopath told her to use Splenda. He believes their deceptive advertosing. It

is true they START with sugar; but the end result is nothing found in nature.

Why don't people understand the difference between natural and chemical? This

same friend uses margarine because she keeps kosher and can't use butter with

her meat meals. She knows too much (?) for me to be able to teach her about

coconut oil.

Ann

My response was:

Hi Ann,

It can be so frustrating when you have so much to share and people don't want to

listen. We can only help those that are open to learn and we need to focus on

those people and be a good example of health. Sadly, she is your friend and

it's hard to watch her poison herself. I feel your pain. I have several family

members and a few friends who are living a slow and painful death from the

choices they are making. I choose to spend more of my time with people who are

on a healing path instead of a deadly one. It's more fun for all of us because

the ones that want to stay on the sickly path don't want us in their lives. We

have nothing in common. Keep enjoying the journey you are on and the right

people will enter your life!

Love and blessings,

Rene

To clarify in more detail what I am saying is that when you see how sick your

loved ones are from blindly following orders from the medical establishment or

our society you want to help them by giving them as much information as you can,

but we can't do anything for anyone if they don't want it. There is so much

greed in our world and it saddens me when people are taken advantage of for not

knowing the truth about the chemicals, and addictive foods that are causing so

much heartache in this country. I was on that downward spiral of illness for

almost two decades and was close to the end of my life. I was very excited

about my body healing after all those years and just wanted to help everyone I

met, but soon realized not everyone wants to take responsibility of their

health. I was just trying to help Ann through this frustrating time for her

because I have been there. We can drive ourselves crazy by thinking we can help

those that do not want help. My purpose is to help others and live a balanced

and healthy life. I'm truly sorry if I was misunderstood.

Be happy in all you do,

Rene
