I would likely use unbleached muslin, then then, I have not looked at

hemp fabric to see how tight the weave is.

Yes, I did them with hemp, but surprisingly they didn't hold up well. I am a

big fan of hemp, generally, but didn't like the way my bags turned out (I made

sprouting bags) I like the unbleached muslin better, plus I found hemp fabric

to be very expensive and hard to find. I ordered mine online, but when it

arrived, it had a strong smell of cigarette smoke in it that was nearly

impossible to get out. I have an older hemp shirt that I have considered

sanitizing and trying to make bags from, but I am not entirely certain it hasn't

been treated with some type of flame retardant or something, as most clothes

are, so I have held off.
