A rebounder is a HUGE health benefit. I do 10 minutes per day without my feet even leaving the mat (it is called "the health bounce")http://www.google.com/search?client=safari & rls=en & q=benefits+of+rebounder & ie=UTF-8 & oe=UTF-8I close my eyes to improve my balance. Balance exercises are also very helpful as we age. WOW will you tip over at first and reach out like a baby with your arms to try to stay balanced on the rebounder if you close your eyes!!!

I had a bone density test recently and the result was osteopenia, which means I have some loss of bone density, but as a menopausal woman, that's not unusual. My doctor immediately handed me a brochure for one of the osteoporosis meds. He know's I'm not a pill popper, so I don't know why he wasted the paper! Anyway, I have been reading the book linked below and haven't finished it yet, but based on what I have read so far, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I would ever take that type of medication. Your bones go through a normal break down and clearing out of old bone, to be replaced with new healthy bone. The biphosphonate medications interfere with that normal breakdown process, so you hold on to that old stuff and there is less and less room for the new healthy bone. So over time, all you have left is mostly old, brittle bone, making you highly susceptible to bone fractures, particularly the femur bone of the thigh. And there's all the other nasty side effects from the medications!

Weight bearing exercise, like walking, helps build bone. If that is difficult, then a rebounder (mini trampoline) is good too, and is doubly beneficial because it moves lymph too.

Bone broths and a pound of greens per day (I juice mine - you're a better woman than me if you can eat that much with the fiber included :-) will be your best therapeutic foods. They are both excellent bioavailable sources of minerals. Best to get both organic and if buying a pound of greens per day doesn't get you to want to learn how to grow your own greens - I don't think anything will :-) I'm not there yet - but it is high on my priority list!!!

Hello,After a recent bone density scan, I was dx'd at high risk of fracture due to osteoporosis. I also relatively recently got a VM. My preference is NOT to go on any meds. I understand that whole vibration therapy/exercise can do wonders to increase bone density; however, I am unsure what veggies or green smoothies or other recipes might be a good substitute for drugs. I have checked out Dr. Mercola's website and found some helpful ideas, however, if anyone has some suggestions...either VM recipes, or veggies to include, success stories with VM and osteoporsis, or whatever, lol, it would be greatly appreciated.a
