Well, day 1 went great except I was kind of tired. So I slept! I planned it this

way. I did go to the movies in the morning -- to see The Hunger Games. How funny

is that?

I kept my schedule pretty much clear for my first three days because I wasn't

sure exactly how I would feel. So far, so good!

I made two smoothies yesterday that I sipped on over time and herbal teas twice.

I wasn't hungry, which is weird for me.

Today I woke up without the usual morning hunger I always have. Did my hot lemon

water and a cup of organic freshly ground coffee (I am not giving up coffee at

this time, if at all, but only have one cup a day of the best quality I can

find). I didn't feel like eating until almost lunch time!

I had a pineapple, banana, orange, kiwi smoothie made with coconut water and a

little coconut milk, a couple of handfuls of spinach, about half a cup of

alfalfa sprouts, some local bee pollen and some flax seeds. Shared this with

hubby so I ended up with about three cups and he ended up with about two. It's

now 3 p.m. and I'm still not hungry. I may make a savory smoothie later but now

I think I'll have some herb tea.

Just got finished watching " Forks Over Knives " and although I don't believe I

want to do a completely plant-based diet I am convinced to move toward one that

is mostly plant based. I also watched the Engine 2 video about the fireman who

got his Texas fire company to go plant based. Fun and interesting. He made a

sweet potato lasagna that I'll have to try when I go back on solid food.

A couple of questions: What's the bad rap on olive oil now? I, like a lot of

other people, always thought olive oil (organic, cold-pressed, etc.) was

healthy. Is store-bought rice or almond milk OK? Any particular brand better

than any other? I just don't see myself having the time or inclination to make

it myself, even with the Vita-Mix. And can anyone tell me more about nutritional

yeast as a substitute for cheese, my all time favorite food? All I can think of

is Brewer's Yeast, which I think is just plain nasty <g>.

Anyway, if you guys aren't bored with it, I'll let you know every few days how

I'm doing. Oh, and some neat things I've noticed...a nagging skin allergy I had

around my waist seems to have disappeared overnight and my arthritis seems to be

way better. Sleeping great, too.
