This topic comes up fairly often, but it is EASY to reduce the noise by just

placing the base on a neoprene computer mousepad or even a dish towel. The

boxes that are used on TV demos are hard to come by. I find the mousepad

reduces the noise dramatically. When I make soup (which is about the only thing

that requires a long running time), I just leave the room and let it do its

thing.
