Guest guest
I live in a huge city and there are no naturopath doctors that have a website online, so I could't find one and I was very frustrated. I checked naturopath physicians and functional medicine. So, I did what Lea Ann suggested and asked a compounding pharmacist near me where is there a naturopath doctor. I found one close and Tuesday I go for my first visit. This doctor does hair sampling for heavy metals in your body and saliva testing for hormone levels and other things. The first thing he has you do is write down every thing that goes into your body for a week-food, drink, vitamins & supplements. Then write down a goal and your exercise routine. I'm really excited. I'll let you know how it goes and what I find out. I am reading the book Eat to Live by Dr. Fuhrman that was suggested from this group. It's very interesting. I need to get everyone I know to read it. I am already eating what he says basically. I bought 2 quarts of strawberries today to make the strawberry ice cream recipe recently posted. I'm sure it will be great. Janet
Guest guest
How great you found a Naturopath. I don't think I have any near me, but will use the method you used to check. Do let us know how the appointment goes. Guest guest
GREAT! Glad you found someone in your area! Keep in mind with your food journal, that you should also keep track of what goes ON your body-lotions, sprays, creams, ointments, shampoos, mouthwash, etc. There are just as many toxic things in the stuff we slather on and lather up with as in the food supply. Keeping track of it from the get go will give you a head start. Let us know how your visit goes! The saliva test is VERY telling-lets you know way more than the " standard " blood test most traditional doctors use-helped me solve MANY of my remaining issues! > > I live in a huge city and there are no naturopath doctors that have a website online, so I could't find one and I was very frustrated. Guest guest
I just found with research, that there is a Naturopath in nearby Sacramento about 17miles from me. Cost is $199 for a basic visit. I will have to think about that since insurance does not cover, even though he is certified as a primary care. Velda On 3/17/2012 3:12 PM, wrote: > GREAT! Glad you found someone in your area! Guest guest
Hey Janet - what is the name of your doc? I have a friend in Jax who has chronic fatigue and is getting no relief from his regular doctor…So glad to hear that you found one (and especially gratified to hear that the advice to go through a local compounding pharmacy was helpful - I found that recommendation on the Stop The Thyroid Madness website here:http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/how-to-find-a-good-doc/ Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)))><'>www.VitamixLady.comwww..com<))>< On Mar 17, 2012, at 5:56 PM, Janet Fowler wrote: I live in a huge city and there are no naturopath doctors that have a website online, so I could't find one and I was very frustrated. Guest guest
My naturopath costs $400 for the first visit (just her time) after all of the tests and supplements, I spent $1,200 the first visit! Guest guest
The doctors name is Dr. Gill Weise and he has an office right behind Publix on Roosevelt Blvd on the westside. His office is in his natural food shoppe where they sell supplements and have a pharmacy where they make natural remedies. He is a pharmacist, so not a traditional naturopath physician, but there is no one else near me to try. This is why I have waited to see if I could find another board certified naturopath. But none near me. The nearest one is in Orlando or Tampa or Boca Raton. It cost $150 for the consultation, $150 for one of the tests and $130 for the other. No insurance, so I will have to pay, but we have a Health Savings Account and I can use that money. My regular primary physician has been no help with my issues other than to tell me to have sonograms and go to the hospital for a biopsy. I need more help that I trust. I have done much better on my own with changing my diet. I will also tell you that the last 6 weeks with no wheat and no flour at all, I feel better.
