If your purpose is just for the grain nutrition, yes, you can use either one,

but if you are making them to avoid gluten or GMO's, you won't want to use

either of those brands, but rather grind your own from a blend of organic

grains. Bob's Red Mill is heavily cross contaminated with wheat and other

allergens, if you are trying to avoid those. Otherwise, it is fine for use as a

grain flour, if you have no issues with allergens. Kashi brand contains

genetically modified things, so if that is an issue, you won't want to use it.

I grind my own blends from organic whole grains, such as rice, red quinoa,

buckwheat, whole oat groats, lentils, etc. You can see my brown rice cracker

video at http://www.mymealmasters.com in the video links.

and grind it to make flour? I found a recipe for whole grain crackers that I've

tried and they are not bad but need some tweaking. I thought using the Kashi

blend might make them more tasty, similar to the Kashi crackers.

Michele, you'll share the recipe when you get it " tweaked " , right? :)

Oh, I'll check that out, thanks. I had some of the Kashi in the house and just

thought I'd use it up to try it. I love their crackers so thought it might be

better than just using whole wheat. I am going to order some wheat berries from

my local health food store and then I can make my own blend.

If I ever do, yes I will. It's on allrecipes and it's funny because some people

love the recipe as written while others all say they have no taste. i added a

ton of seasonings and they were still pretty bland. i roll them out really thin

though and they do satisfy my craving for a nice crunchy snack. I gave my dog

the burnt ones and she loved them. I've been having them with some hummus from

my vitamix and carrots in the afternoon. Here's the recipe with the reviews. I'm

going to try again this weekend with the Kashi blend and more seasoning so

hopefully they will be better.
