Guest guest
TO ALL: I have witnessed Jim at his best!! While in LA last May, Kathy and I both tried to convince Jim to leave things - but he wasnt able to do that. He wasnt at that stage. Of course, he could rationaly explain why and how, but was not able to leave anything behind!! Jim, Any success with the multiple choice tests for . I hate them. They dont express to me knowledge of the material, but rather good comprehension of language and luck!! I would prefer an essay question, short answer, even a paper, instead of multiple choice. You mentioned seperation anxiety and . Other than the obvious, is there someone that he has problems parting with at this time of his life?? He is so lucky to have you on his side. And how is doing at University? take care, Jim, ... wendy, in canada
Guest guest
Interesting comment Taffy- I am afraid I'll lose them. Spoken like a true OCD Hoarder and Clutterer in training. We often will pick up multiples of free things and handouts at conferenced. We will buy multiple items of thing we like or think we may need, just to make sure. We want to make sure to have others when we use up or possibly lose what we want to have. jim also in san diego
Guest guest
Thanks -- Kathy will confirm that I was able to give her the sign I wore at the Revlon Run/Walk for Women and Cancer Reseach on which I had said that I was there in support of her and my sister. Actually, today told his Lit teacher that he would prefer to write out the answers rather than use the multiple choice scantrons. He proudly reported he 'aced' the test. The other teachers have expressed a willingness to do the same thing. Unfortunately, 's handwriting still needs lots of work. When he writes things they are too difficult to read. One teacher sasid the he would him write out things in class and then have him retype it on the computer at home. This is a start, but is still discriminationg against to have to do the same test twice. Unfortunately, the SAD is related to deaths. His Mom who died about 5 1/2 years ago; and his Grandmother [my Mom] died from the same causes less than 4 years. is doing well and can be seen and heard weekly at noon PDT on her radio show at www.humboldt.edu/~krfh . thanks jim in san diego
Guest guest
Jim, I am glad that found a way to take the test. Is there any way a lap top could be used for writting papers? It is un-fair to have to re-type his papers and notes. Hope all is well with you. I remember going to the OCSDA conf. and seeing the shirt backs from the Revlon walk at the luncheon. Quite a busy mothers day weekend wasn't it! Takde care, Vivian =====
Guest guest
Hi Jim: What about doing his work on a computer from the get go? The school should have something available and it certainly seems a reasonable accommodation.
