Guest guest
April - Just do an unofficial challenge - challenge yourself! I didn't take a break between Challenge 1 and Challenge 2 (I'm in the first week of challenge 2), mainly because I slacked off in the second half of my first challenge. Even though I slacked, I still got really good results (see my pics in sMom01031999 Folder) and am looking for even better results by December 20th! You might take a week off if you've been " good " the whole 12 weeks - I've been seeing around that it's good to take a rest from working out every so often and it might help you be motivated to keep the second challenge going. Make sure you set new goals for yourself, too. Anyhow - keep going and good luck! in WI New to the Group! Ok so I actually do have a question !!!!(and if you're still reading this i really am sorry lol) I noticed that the last challenge for 2003 is on Oct 6th...but mine will be over in November. Um....what do I do til January?? lol I was just gonna start an " unofficial " challenge. Do you guys take time off between or just go right into another one? I think I might take a week off. But Im scared to put the weight back on. Thanks guys!!! April

Hello all! I'm Michele. I'm 33, soon to be 34. I live in OHIO. I work full-time, and am also a Wife and Mother of 2 boys. I am somewhat healthy. I can't say I'm a stranger to being healthy, or the Body For Life program. I used to be a lot more healthy a few years ago and have slipped some in the last 3 years. I'm not " overweight " just flabby and out of shape. I'm 5'6 130lbs. I have so much love and compassion towards people who are struggling, trying to live healthy and eat right. It doesn't matter if you have a 100lbs to lose or 5lbs. It's a struggle at whatever stage your in. (HARD TO EXPRESS IN WORDS. I HOPE YOU GET MY DRIFT) My " NEWS YEARS RESOLUTION " this year is to be DISCIPLINED. In everything I do. Except I'm not sure how to go about it. LOL!! PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE I guess. I am happy to find this fitness group and hope to find love and support and give love and support, and of course learn something new everyday. I plan on taking this group very seriously and give my 100% while I'm here. I look forward to making new friends who share my interests. Guest guest
hi sherry!!! im happy to meet you!!! im carolyn, age 42, living in ontario canada with my husband and our two sons (ages 5 and 7). i also like taebo but i use billy's old vhs tapes... the advanced live workouts. i dont know if you can get these anywhere or not now as they are out of print. i honestly think that his get ripped advanced workouts are the toughest cardio that he has ever put out. so you might have to look elsewhere for tougher kickbox cardio. how about cathe friedrich? she has some kickbox workouts. maybe you might like some of the longer turbo jam workouts as well. :*carolyn. Guest guest
Welcome Sherry! You've found the right place if you are looking for other fitness fanatics If I do Tae-Bo, I do the old Live Advanced volume ones. They are much better (in my opinion) than any of his workouts that he's put out. So do you do strength training in addition or just cardio? I also do long workouts. Although if I could ever get a better grip on my eating I'd be comfortable cutting back come fall. Darcy On 8/30/06, fanaticforfitness <fanaticforfitness@...> wrote: Hi everyone! I do 3 to 2 hrs a day 6 days a week. My favorite is tae bo, it is what I have seen the most results from. If anyone else does tae bo could you tell me what ones are really intense cardio? I have a few that are killers but then I have bought some I will never do because they are not advanced enough. I have get ripped 2 that's awesome. And the cardio fat blaster with the billy bands is also good. I will end here and hopefully chat with you all soon and make some new friends who share my love of working out at home!! Guest guest
Hi, Sherry, Glad to have you here! I'm , age 37--one of the few men in the group and always willing to offer a male perspective. :-) My wife and I also do tae bo and I also have a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo. (Testing for 3rd degree on October 1.) We have a number of tae bo DVD's, but the ones I like best are the Tae Bo Ultimate Series. Those are the older ones (about 1999 I think) and they are pasted together from different workouts that did. We also like his Boot Camp stuff and his Tae Bo Extreme, but nothing else of his is quite as intense for us as the Ultimate Series. (Even large parts of Boot Camp are too wimpy for me.) If you're doing tae bo to get fit, you might want to consider other kickboxing-type stuff. Janis Saffell's Hardcore Kickbox is deceptively intense. Cathe Friedrich's Kick, Punch & Crunch and her Kick Max are also very tough but productive kickboxing workouts. Nice to meet you nad I look forward to getting to know you. > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
So looking forward to hearing from everyone!  Leora, we are here with you and taking the baby steps as FlyLady likes to call these things! I feel the same as you...when I feel good about myself and my relationships and activites, then I don't worry about food. Today is Monday...let's get a jump start on 2010!  T ________________________________ From: Leora <leoramorris@...> weightloss Sent: Mon, December 28, 2009 7:57:30 AM Subject: New to the group!  Hey everyone, I am new to this group and hoping to find a great support system as I makeover my relationship with food and exercise. I have gained and lost the same 10 pounds over the last 10 years. I am not overweight by any means, but I have a highly problematic relationship with food and a suffering body image. In general, when I am feeling particularly worthy in my life (attractive, excited by projects I'm working on, mindful, etc) food stops occuring to me as an option. The skinniest times of my life have always been those in which I felt most alive. I want to cultivate this kind of vitality in my life permanently, so that I am living fully and not using food to self-medicate, to procrastinate, and to celebrate. I have just started listening to the podcasts and am going to make my way through them from the beginning. However, I am committing to actually doing the written exercises! I don't really like to share my struggle around this issue with my friends, so I'm excited to have a forum for discussion and support here. I love the idea of willpower being " so last decade " and the idea that weight loss is all about inner alignment. Guest guest
I just read a quote which kind of runs alongside what we are doing. Losing weight is not the the answer to becoming healthly and happy. Being healthy and happy is the answer to losing weight. Love it!
