Guest guest
Hi Ladies, Just wanted to let all of you know that I've been RX'd with orthostatic tachycardia which can be a cause of fatigue (and many other symptoms that we all have)and has been associated with CFS. My doc ordered a Red Cell Mass test which showed decreased red cell mass, decreased plasma volume and decreased blood volume. This basically means that I have anemia, though the cause is unknown as of yet. I wanted to let you all know this because the typical blood tests that show anemia can be false negative if your blood volume or blood plasma is decreased. If any of you have persistent fatigue with no identified cause, or if you are short of breath or feel your heart beat is sometimes too rapid, it might be worth having this test done. It is much more sensitive than the regular tests. Ann
Guest guest
Ann: Are you hypothyroid? Do you have heavy menses? Anemia has many causes from hormones, fibromyalgia, diet, heavy periods, internal bleeding B vitamin def. Have you thought about consulting a hematologist too? Depending on the cause of anemia, iron infusions may remedy the situation. My thoughts are with you.
