Guest guest
This sounds really good. I have been reading Wheat Belly and decided to cut out wheat for a while. It was very quick and easy to whip up and the black beans were whirred into oblivion so they were undetectable. I would like to try some sweetener substitutes next time though - 3/4 sugar seems like a lot. The only thing I subbed was coconut oil for the canola oil and they turned out much more fudgey (I don't think that is a word -but you get the idea!) whereas before they were more cake like. Here is a link to the recipe:http://mealmakeovermoms.com/kitchen/2009/07/10/black-bean-brownies/ To adapt to the Vitamix, I mixed the beans, eggs and melted coconut oil until the beans were fairly blended and then blended everything for 30 seconds or so. I would like to replace the sugar with dates somehow so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know! -Janel
Guest guest
I made this same recipe today except I made a few changes. I used eggbeaters for the eggs and applesauce for the oil. I also used dark chocolate chips. They are SO good. I had never made them before but figured the Vitamix would do a better job than the food processor and it worked great. I'm taking some to work tomorrow for coworkers so we'll see what they think. I think they are really rich, not very sweet. > > > ** > > > > > > I've made this recipe before in a food processor but wow, what a > > difference in the Vitamix.
