Guest guest
It's really a shame to have been treated that way by a Vitamix representative. I've only had good experiences when I've called. Please don't judge the entire company by that one bad apple. Aside from offering a great product, Vitamix is American-made. We need to do what we can to promote industry in our country and keep jobs here. If that means registering a complaint against that employee, so be it. Just my two cents!O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Ps. 34:8 From: swrightson14@...Date: Tue, 17 Apr 2012 21:06:51 -0600Subject: Wet and Dry Containers I posted my question here about these yesterday, but got no answer so called Vitamix. Got a really...snippy would be too kind a word....customer service rep who told me that the only reason I would want a dry container is if I were "one of those" who needed a fine grind anyway, so why was I worrying about it? And no, he didn't think $150 for a container was expensive. Further, that he had nothing to do with stores selling things to people giving them bad information. (Yes, I know that, but he sure couldn't care less either who is selling what and saying what). Basically "get lost lady" was the attitude. Nor would he answer any questions about what I could or could not do in -- I guess I have -- the wet container. Just kept saying "Weeelllllll, but it wiiiiilllll do that...of course unless you really need a fine grind for making flour." So you mean I can't? "Nooooooo, it willllll do that, except..." I'm so disappointed I want to throw the entire thing out the window. And it has been way too long since I bought it to go back to the store, which is in another state anyway. Heaven help all of us if this is the sort of customer service we can expect should something go wrong with our machines. I'm sorry to be in the least negative, as I love what I have. I'm just really horrified that I don't have all that I need, wasn't told that, and Vitamix won't help by informing me. And Lea Ann, of course this have nothing to do with you and this wonderful list. Guest guest
Hello ,I am so sorry that I didn't reply to your previous post. I did see it, and thought that I had replied to it, but as sometimes happens, I started a reply, then it got buried in my "drafts" folder and never completed. Regarding the wet and dry containers, there is quite a bit of difference. If you go to:Links > 2 - Container QuestionsYou will find four different posts that contain information about the dry container. If there are any questions you have after reading those posts, please ask them. I PROMISE to reply!About the Pro 500 coming with a dry container - it does not.The wet container that came with your machine can do everything except turn grains into flower WELL (it CAN turn grains into flour, but as the posts in the archives explain, the dry container is specifically designed to do a better job). I can get you a dry container for $99. "Technically", that "package deal price" is only supposed to apply if your Pro 500 was purchased within the past 3 months. I have a good relationship with the Home Office, and considering your bad experience with someone in the Customer Service department, I am certain they would allow me to sell you a dry container for $99 regardless of how long ago you bought your machine. Guest guest
Hi Lea Ann, Can you explain the difference in grinding grains between the wet and dry containers? Besides having heard that the wet container might get pitted from hard grains hitting the side, I'm not clear on how the flour outcome is any different. I've only ground flour once in my (wet) VM container so far--quinoa--but it came out as light and powdery as any flour I'd ever seen. Thanks,Kartik-- " Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
