Guest guest
I had not realized she was asking about Whey and foaming. I learned that early on when I began using Whey on some days after a Curves workout. If I am not going to simply shake it with water in a jar, but adding to smoothie, I always wait till I get all the rest of the smoothie done mixing/blending, then just before serving, I add the whey and let it stir on low speed. No added foam that way. Guest guest
Thanks, Velda & Lea Ann I will try that addition of the Whey protein powder after everything is mixed. When I finish the powder, (it was expensive!) I'll try another less foaming. I was surfing around, reading messages, and other people commented about highly foaming foods. This foam can really give me a stomach ache if the drink is very large and I usually have the tendency to have a large drink, since it's a meal replacement. > > > > > > Hello Everyone, > > > > > > I had to change my domain name. Guest guest
In my experience the most foaming things are: oranges, pineapples, and tomatoes (especially tomatoes). (Aside from whey of course :-)But the kind of foam from these things, are much easier to pop out on low speeds. Sometimes tomatoes have to be run on low speed for QUITE some time depending on just how much foam was created… Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)www.BlenderLady.com(AKA the Vitamix Lady :-)<))>< On Apr 16, 2012, at 5:24 PM, Marrowstone wrote: Thanks, Velda & Lea Ann I will try that addition of the Whey protein powder after everything is mixed. Guest guest
Whey is a good source of protein and through my research I learned that it does not have lactose (at least the brands I checked). You may or may not need added protein, depending on other factors in your life. Unknown to most people, vegetables have a fair amount of protein. I add protein after a workout, esp if I have not had a hearty breakfast with protein in it. I don't add lots of protein to my diet (on top of what I would get with our particular usual diet) but I have found adding a scoop of whey on days I work out helpful and is more or less a meal replacement if I don't have time for lunch after the workout. Guest guest
This is interesting. I put whey protein powder in my green lunch smoothie almost everyday. I don't notice an over abundance of foam, but there is some. I almost always have a bit of pineapple and/or orange in there and assumed that is where my foam was coming from. Today, I'll try the trick for adding it at the end and see what happens. Thanks!
Guest guest
I often put a scoop of why protein in my smoothie, and have never had any foaming issues. I use the NOW brand, which I feel comfortable with - the purity of their products is quite good, from what I've read over the years.Ginny From: busymomothree <mich_hamilton@...> Sent: Tuesday, April 17, 2012 7:07 AM Subject: Re: Popping Air Bubbles when Whey Protein Powder is Used This is interesting.
