Guest guest
I watched the show at end of the day and they totally sold out NO waitlist either..I think they said 15,000.. and so they has some leftover time and FINALLY did a brief demo of the dry container..doing coffee and popcorn. I learned a few tips on my new unit which is good to know on how to use the pulse feature.. I want to try the carrot ginger soup now. It does seem the combo of the inperson demo's and QVC is really bringing the word to the masses about the value of the units.I also liked the comment made on the show that once people have been using the units they may, at some time, want to Upgrade but then they pass on the still going strong, older model to a family member or friend..That speaks volumes for the quality of a well made USA MADE product.!! Guest guest
If I could justify "passing my old one to a family member" I would have been calling for a new one yesterday. But……I have not had mine even 2 weeks and love it!!Why do they always come up with "bigger/better as soon as you make a purchase!?But I would not trade 1 day of having my VitaMix. It came along just right for me. The day I retired, it arrived and was here to greet me when I got home! I have ordered the dry container and am waiting for it.What a product!!ShirleyOn Apr 30, 2012, at 8:11 AM, crenita2 wrote: I watched the show at end of the day and they totally sold out NO waitlist either..I think they said 15,000.. and so they has some leftover time and FINALLY did a brief demo of the dry container..doing coffee and popcorn. Guest guest
Honestly.. I don't see a whole lot other than the noise factor that has changed.. so don't look with envy at the so called New and Improved.. I am pleased I have it but would be just as pleased if I had the other model.. Also they kept talking about the NEW BOOK. well if it is new they need to have told that to the publisher.. as the instructions do not reflect the ' new pulse feature' in the recipes nor any of the slightly different way to chg the speed on the new machine.. That I did not appreciate...As I didn't understand how the PULSE feature was to be used.. Thank goodness their was a brief demo on the show yesterday reg how to use that feature. I warmed my heart to hear so many people calling in and telling their story about how much better they feel after chging their eating habits.by using the VM > > > I watched the show at end of the day and they totally sold out NO waitlist either..I think they said 15,000.. and so they has some leftover time and FINALLY did a brief demo of the dry container..doing coffee and popcorn. > > > > I learned a few tips on my new unit which is good to know on how to use the pulse feature.. Guest guest
They were making cornmeal with the popcorn.. it was a fill in presentation so I don't think they were prepared for anything.. just grabbed what was in the house.. they didn't expect to be sold out so soon.. re the pulse.. He said It works more like a chopper than a blender.. using the lower speeds just put the food to be chopped.. in and set the speed then hit the pulse once or twice and everything was nicely minced up... if you need it to chop a little harder item just increase the speed first then hit the pulse.. I need to go back and look but I don't think you hit the START switch at all.. just set the numbers then hit PULSE> he also said you could Pulse in any speed.. so I was thinking about a sm batch of nuts that you want chopped but not smashed up..but then doing that on a higher speed.. He made the guacamole that way and then made the salsa..then chopped up onions w the pulse and use them to mix in to the meat he ground up to make burgers... I got the impression that they felt the pulse feature gave you more control so you don't over chop the celery or onions or carrots.. etc.. For me that will be mighty handy as I Hate all the fine chopping.. when I need to do that for some recipes.. Oh and he made the custard and then poured over some cubed pound cake and added berries to the top NOW that looked WONDERFUL.. have never had home made custard so it woudl be a new experience for me. Guest guest
I don't quite understand them marketing a " pulse feature " on their " newer, quieter " model. I have been pulsing for years with ANY of the models of Vitamix. On my video of ricing cauliflower, at http://www.mymealmasters.com, you can see that I am " pulsing " just by quickly turning it off and on again with the " high " button engaged, but I have also done it on lower speeds. As for the noise of my Vitamix, I LOVE it-lets me know I have the best gadget going! Guest guest
I had the same thought about the pulse switch, . Had a guy on a local WestonPrice list asking about blenders and everyone pretty much recommended VM. I wrote him and gave url for this list and LeaAnn's info and recommended a refurb unit. Some time ago, I told my son that there was an upgraded VM coming out and that he should save his pennies in case I needed to upgrade; I would give him a deal on my current model. But I didn't really see anything yesterday on the Q to make me want to make the switch. Maybe we'll hear more when the buyers get their new machines.
