Guest guest
My friend's kids have gone to the MDA camp and they loved it. There is a volunteer to go along with every kid. His kids can't wait to go back this summer. Bob
Guest guest
Hi , MDA camp is a great thing, I used to go when I was a kid and since finding out my 2 sons have CMT, they go now. They love it. Shane, my oldest (13) has been going since he was 8, and has made alot of longtime friends, including his counselor that he has had since he started. My youngest, (7) is going into his 2nd year, and has made a lot of friends too, and has a best buddy in his counselor as well. The boys keep in touch with them all year. Plus, they get to do alot of things they wouldn't normally do on an everyday basis, and they experience a sense of freedom. It's a great opportunity for them and for yourself. Although it's a break, you'll always worry as a mother always does, but believe me they're well taken care of. If you have anymore questions or want anymore info., email me anytime. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Thanks for replying back! My oldest is 15 and the youngest is 6. And the camp is 3.5 hours away. I know overprotective mother! The boys are interested in going. Even the 6 yr old says he will be fine. And I know they both would be. On the plus side our middle son, who doesn't have CMT, wishes he could go but is thinking of all the fun he can have without his older brother bossing him around or his little brother getting in his way! Oh the joy of children!! Thanks for putting some of my fears to ease!
Guest guest
My niece went to MDA Camp for the first time when she was 5. Right after her father passed away. They made a special allowance for her at the time, the age limit was 6. Her mom hasn't been able to keep her home since. She has gone from a camper to an assistance assistant to a assistant. She graduates from High school in June and plans to be home in the summer to go again. Elaine......Michigan
