Guest guest
Hi all, especially you new folks. What a great bunch of discussions. Thanks to all for your input in to upper body strength. For years, my wife has said there was nothing wrong with my upper body strength, even though I felt I was not as strong as I should be. I think, in retrospect, I couldn't do many things, because my legs would give out, even if my upper body could lift things. That is now changing, with hand shaking to go along with it, especially after exertion. My handwriting has been sloppy since middle school, about the time I was first diagnosed. In Indiana, various organizations help pay for home modifications. Vocational Rehabilitation will pay if it helps a person continue to work or maintain a household (if the person's primary occupation is homemaker). Each state will likely be different. If a state or locality (city or county government) accepts federal monies for street repairs or construction, there may be standards set connected to those monies. Curb cuts can be one of those standards. My wife and I are going to Alaska this summer. We will spend four days on land, including a trip to Denali. We will then be on a ship for about 7 days. I have contacted one scooter company who says they will only rent a scooter for the time I will be on the ship (seems a waste). Any ideas, input or warnings will be greatly appreciated.
