Thank you Lea Ann! This is *just* what I needed! I've pretty much mastered Green Smoothies (Yum!), but now I need to try all of these other things. For example, I have some left over chicken in the fridge that needs to be used ASAP - I'm betting there is a killer Chicken Tortilla Soup I could be making in the VitaMix... :-)

Here is my day with my 2 week-old VitaMix…..Today we made our Dunkin Donut coffee stop and I saw their new Breakfast Burrito. I said….I can do that!So I did. For lunch. I had some whole wheat tortillas and farm fresh eggs. Why not!!Yesterday I got my dry container so decided to give it a try. I had some deli ham; 1 shallot and 3 huge eggs. I heated my frying pan and then started the machine. It was ready in a whirl. Cooked the eggs; warmed the tortillas in the microwave; and had lunch.Oh, I forgot! It was green! I put in a handful of spinach. So I guess we had "Green Eggs and Ham Tortilla Wraps"!! So yummy!!!For dinner I used the rest of the tortillas and made personal pizzas with our favorite stuff. Made sauce from fresh tomatoes and the rest. It was so good!!Both containers were used today. And the day is not over! /:-) I love the size of the Dry Container. I See that being used a lot!!Thanks for all these tips….Constant reminders are great!!ShirleyOn May 4, 2012, at 11:19 AM, Lea Ann Savage wrote:

You can order a 32 or 48 oz container from Lea Ann that might fit under your

counter. I actually use my 32 oz more than I do the 64 oz, which is put away.

Lea Ann can get you free shipping and a great price on the container-always

worth having it!

you are so welcome :)

1 cup of vanilla yogurt ( I only had plain)

1 pound of frozen strawberries ( I used frozen mangos and handful of blueberrys)

For best results allow frozen fruit to thaw at room temp for 10 minutes before

blending

Place ingred in Vitamix in order listed and secure lid

Select Variable 1

Switch to Start and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, using tamper to press

ingred into the blades

In about 30-60 secondes, the sound of the motor will change and four mounds should

form

Stop machine. Do not over mix or melting will occur. Serve immediately.

I'm pretty sure that after hitting Variable 10 you would need to switch to high. I don't see that in the directions and don't want any of the new owners to miss out on their delicious frozen treats!

Hello Debbie,LOVE that you made slaw already - wet chopping is one of my favorite ways to use my machine! If you've started out like this, you are certain to use your machine to its fullest potential because you aren't just thinking of it as a glorified blender!FYI - you have up to 3 months to get the mini 32 oz. wet container for $99 (the package deal price) If you get the right customer service rep this can be stretched to 6 months or longer - grin ;-)I use my 32 oz wet container 90% of the time and it fits nicely under the cabinets. The 64 oz. container is great as a back up, or when you need to make large batches - like soup for a crowd, or margaritas at a party ;-)

Hello :) I saw the demo when I ordered it from QVC and I thought that would be great and so it was the first thing I made lol. Turned out sooo great. I think I will love it for wet chopping and chopping of things like onions, etc. That sounds like a super great deal to get the smaller container!!!! Thank you for the info :)> > > I ordered one from the big sale on QVC and just received it :) Have already made slaw and a mango blueberry freeze :) I loveee it already. I have both the container it ships with and the smaller one. When I just had the one that ships the machine sat on the counter but the container sat next to the base. That worked and was better than having it in a cabinet. Later I bought the smaller container because there is only myself and my husband in my family and I do not need the capacity of the larger container most of the time. This one fits under the cabinet, just barely but it does slide under. I have under the counter florescent lights which take up a but of room. The unit with the small container slides under the lights and once behind that there is headroom.Terry Sent from my iPadHDOn May 5, 2012, at 10:47 AM, "*Debbie*" <debbie_w_ohio@...> wrote:

I make pita breads but use my food processor for the dough. Takes about 2 minutes from start to finish which includes putting the ingredients in the machine. It's so much better than store bought. Actually, I need to make up another dozen. Had the last one of my last batch this morning. I also make flour tortillas and an Indian flat bread. I have not used the VM for any if these tho.I'd be curious to know if people who do use the VM see an advantage.TerryOS happy to share recipes.Sent from my iPadHDOn May 4, 2012, at 10:12 PM, Shirley <jallen03@...> wrote:

I used to do mine in a food processor too, but the main advantage is that I can

freshly grind the flour in the Vitamix just as I am ready to make them, and only

dirty up the one container. I put my food processor away a LONG time ago, and

now only drag that beast out during my gardening season when I need to slice

things. There is a slight learning curve to switching to the Vitamix for

breads, but very easily learned, then you will wonder why you didn't always to

it that way!

Hi, Terry…,That is what I would like to try. I also have a food processor. I will likely work with the Dry container at first. I just made Hummus….it is so good! Would like to make my own 'dippers'. /:-) Your recipes would be a great help!ShirleyOn May 5, 2012, at 11:43 AM, Terry Pogue wrote:
