Guest guest
Hi all, I went to my MDA neurologist today and said we are looking for a condo that is accessable. I learned that MDA will send a therapist to the condo and tell us things that can be done to make it accessable and convenient. Counters might be lowered and doorways widened etc. They can check to determine if hallways are wide enough, might even suggest furniture placement to best advantage for disability. Of course we pay someone to do this. They just suggest what can be most helpful but MDA will pay for this if their Dr. writes script. They also found some web sites for me to locate gadgets and equipment on computer...like health aids. Also called OT at hospital to find venders names so I might call to receive catalog of health aids. In cleaning today I found that CMTA will send a list of neurologists orthopedists, physiatrists, pediatric and podiatrist in your state that are knowledgeable about CMT. They also have a list of gadgets and equipment that might help. Gretchen, what about making that stamp to honor Drs. Charcot,Marie, and Tooth instead of Bart Giamatti??? Is is too late?????????????? Good luck, Sue **** Sue, about the stamp, there is already a Charcot stamp - in France, and besides Charcot, Marie and Tooth were European. The USPS only issues stamps that have an American heritage. I have a photo of the Charcot stamp, I think it is in the Photos section. ~ Gretchen
