Guest guest
As I just introduced myself today didn't want to unload too much all at once but I have A BIG QUESTION for ANYONE out there WITH CMT. Myself and all my co-workers were recently laid off. While looking for a new job, especially if it's a place where they might think I would be good at relating to their consumers like a counseling position, would anyone recommend mentioning the disability that I have? It would not affect the work and I would not be trying to get sympathy, it would be so that they know that I can relate or have a deeper understanding of those in a disabling position. I was thinking of mentioning that for a couseling position and also for a fundraising position that I was applying to. If I should, how would I mention my CMT so they understand I'm not saying it for sympathy and so they won't think that I could not do the job? I have bee wrestling with this question for a long time! ANYONE WITH ANY PROFESSIONAL ADVICE, PLEASE HELP! I feel that I need to use my education and have not felt mentally challenged or stimulated since college! Ok, that is the biggest question I will ever ask of you all. Thanks ahead of time. Dawn
